generically edible icon post
Jul. 6th, 2009 03:06 pmI would drop everything to head into the city and find a good macaron right now. I'm not the only person who feels this way, clearly, because these guys spent a day wandering around in search of one.
I also wanted to instill hunger in everyone else who isn't eating delicious sugary pastries at the moment. Hence this icon!

on 2009-07-06 10:56 pm (UTC)Anyway, a macaron is a traditional French pastry that dates back to the 18th century; like my icon shows, they're thin and somewhat dome-shaped, with cream in-between the two cookies. Like a Carvel ice cream sandwich, but better. They come in a ton of different flavors; I looked online, and these are some that have been available: apricot, almond, blackcurrent, caramel, cinnamon, coconut, coffee, fig, hazelnut, lemon, licorice, orange, pistachio, raspberry, rose, truffle, vanilla, violet, and walnut. Just looking at that list kind of makes me wish I could have one now.

Mostly because I don't think I could eat more than one of those at a time, because I don't really like sweet things. But I think if I was into that kind of food, I would totally be craving one of those.

on 2009-07-07 01:26 am (UTC)How can I ever bribe you if you don't like desserts, though? :( Usually I tell people that I'll give them free apple pie if they listen to what I say, and they fall into line with that.no subject
on 2009-07-07 05:43 pm (UTC)XD well, if it makes you feel better, I do like apple pie? It's not just pure sugar, y'know? So I think I'm still bribable.no subject
