faster than the speed of night
Sep. 2nd, 2009 12:04 amGot rid of all the numbers from my entry headers. After a while, they began to get annoying and cumbersome.
I think it was bell who warned me that doujinshi collecting was a slippery slope. I should have taken her advice, because I'm fairly sure I've fallen down and can't get back up. No, seriously. Before this year, I never bought a single one. I kept seeing them online and at Otakon, but I refused to cave. "They're expensive and overpriced!" I thought. "I'll look at them once and then put them away. I can save my money for more worthwhile things."
But going to Ikebukuro and (more importantly) Mandarake was a mistake, because they have slowly begun to chip away at my self-control. Now I keep looking at the doujinshi being sold on the J!Yahoo Auctions, and the shipping services on Celga.
I WANT OUT.
I also have Bonnie Tyler's Faster Than The Speed of Night stuck in my head, but this is less of a problem, I think.

on 2009-09-04 12:42 am (UTC)And because once upon a time I bought a doujin and I only ever looked at it once, so it can definitely happen.Get out your ice picks and climb back up the slope if you have to! :P

on 2009-09-04 02:31 am (UTC)Less smart than you think I am, because I...um, may have already caved and won a set for four doujinshi through Celga just recently. At least it was a good deal, at 500 yen for them all together? *IS SO ASHAMED* If nothing else, I can translate them and contribute towards the fandom. Right.
What was it for?Get out your ice picks and climb back up the slope if you have to!
This is very hard when you've never gone mountain climbing before!
