Snow outside! Lots of it! And yet, I'm glad that some of it melted today. As nice as it was to sit by the fireplace yesterday, I like getting out instead of being stuck indoors the whole time. Also, my younger cousin was watching the movie adaptation of Ella Enchanted recently, and oh my God, were they TRYING to make it as awful as possible? I have nothing against Anne Hathaway, but that book was one of my favorites, and it saddens me that none of its clever writing and likable characters -- and yes, even-handed subversions -- made it through at all intact.

In the spirit of procrastination, I have two memes:

a) 1. Leave me a casual comment of no particular significance, like a lyric to your current favorite song, your favorite kind of sandwich, or maybe your favorite game. Any remark, meaningless or not.
2. I will respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.

GEE I WONDER WHAT THAT COULD POSSIBLY BE FROM. (IT'S NOT LIKE I EVEN C&P'ED THOSE LYRICS INTO GOOGLE, SO.)

On that note! For the first meme:

1. How did you get into Persona, and why do you like it so much?
2. If you had to pick a favorite book (and yes, one book, not an entire series) to bring with you on a desert island, what would it be?
3. What's one thing you're really proud of having done?

HAHAHA. =P I told you it was predictable?

1. I may have mentioned this, but it's all Alyssa's fault? Well, ish - she flailed about it a lot, and I thought it was pretty cool - you summon things by shooting yourself in the head? Awesome! - and then Kayla went and got into it too, and finally I was just like "ARGH I WILL GO BUY IT NOW INSTEAD OF WAITING TO BORROW" because it sounded cool.

AAAAND that was Persona 3, and I ended up buying Persona 4, since they didn't have 3. And I adored it, obviously.
On the other hand, I'm really not so into P3. I finally did borrow it, but I got spoiled by P4's game mechanics and the characters - with the exception of a few - don't really click with me. Maybe because EVERYONE has an angsty, angsty past? On the other hand, P4's cast is a lot more realistic? I guess. Sure, they have their problems, but it's not like "My little sister died in a fire at our orphanage and I couldn't save her D: D: D:" It's more "My parents and everybody around me have been pressuring me to do this my whole life, and I don't want to, but I don't have the courage to say anything/run away on my own."
I'll shut up now instead of going super tl;dr on you. Basic points: I like the gameplay, the plots are interesting enough, I adore the characters, and it's all Alyssa's fault, in the end.

2. I strongly dislike this question. XD But if I could only bring one book ever, it would probably be The Grey King, from the Dark is Rising Sequence. I'm not entirely sure WHY - it's just what came to mind first, and I like rereading it. Plus, it was always my favorite.

3. P-proud of? Um. I can think of the OPPOSITE really easy - see cat!drama - but I dunno. XD I'm proud of finishing Persona 4 AND NaNo in the same month? But that seems like a silly thing. XD

4. Er.... I've... never really thought about that? I can't say that I have one. I mean, occasionally I'll be annoyed, or some days I just won't want to talk to people, buuuut... usually I internalize it? Or at least the second one. If I don't want to talk to people, that's generally my own fault - I'm just not in the mood. As for the first, I dunno, I guess I just kind of don't mind much.

5. The sky only appears blue because of the refraction of light waves in the atmosphere - since the sky is really just transparent atmosphere up-close, I'd say not really. And as for the pot of gold, I really don't know, but I wish the kids would just leave Lucky alone. :( They're such pests. And I still think the Trix rabbit should just be allowed to have some, geez.

1. See, I thought you liked P3 and P4 about equally! But that's good to know, in case I'm ever able to get my hands on either one of them. I see what you mean about P4 having a more realistic cast, and I still have to ask: WHY DO YOU HAVE TO SUMMON POWERS BY SHOOTING YOURSELF IN THE HEAD? You've probably explained this to me before, but if you have, I don't remember!

2. Yay, YA books. <3 (Obvious bias much?) I still have to get around to finishing that series, though!

4. I see! Honestly, I thought everyone had a pet peeve -- maybe I'm just too much of a grouch. XD

1. Well, the cards they smash are really like... faux-tarot cards? They're the same design as all of the other tarot stuff, but not actually actual tarot. That said, they DO use all of the major arcana for characters/plotline events. P3 had a shuffle system where you could get things for minor arcana cards (Like money for coins, weapons for swords, etc) but P4 dropped that one.

1. Well, the "group"/MC arcana is associated with the basic plotline, which morphs into Judgement... usually after you've passed the bad ending, I think? At least in P4, it does. And then your party members and these people outside of the main cast (school club members, people you meet outside/on part-time jobs, etc) all have arcana associated with them, as well as the Personas that your MC can summon. Basically, if you go hang out with people, their "social link" levels up, and you get cool exp bonuses when you make Personas for your MC (Which is a HUGE help, because sometimes the amount of experience required to level them up normally is vaguely horrifying at times) Also, in P4 your party members get cool new abilities and a new, stronger Persona when you level them up.

5. I ACTUALLY WASN'T, OKAY? BUT NOW I HAVE THIS MENTAL IMAGE THAT CROSSES OVER THE TRIX RABBIT AND THIS ONE CREEPY VOCALOID SONG. NOT COOL.

1. That sounds really interesting, but I think what's holding me back from full comprehension here is that I still don't really know what a Persona is. XD I mean, I have a vague idea, but...yeah, not really. Explain?

1. XD SORRY. It's like... a summon spirit? Basically, you summon mythological figures to do your bidding and attack things. It's like... super!attacks, or spell-casting, depending on the skills the Persona has/uses.
